Ha. Well here is my new and hopefully improved two colour self-promotional postcard, minus my friend the lion, who was cluttering things up rather; sorry old chap. Now, if only I can get all the corners nicely die-cut with a rounded edge I will feel most rewarded.

The final spread, in which Pierre receives a multi-coloured dream coat from Marie, to his great joy. But, oh no, now I've got to work out all the fiddly pop-up elements... Looking forward to the completion of this project... I have a new character in the pipeline, possibly the wee chap pictured below, who by the way is not a one-armed naked boy; I just didn't get round to drawing his clothes, and his arm is probably behind his back, hiding something!

For the next couple of weeks we fourth year illustrators are engaged in a collaboration with 3rd graphic designers with the aim of producing snazzy self-promotional postcards peddling our illustrative wares on one side of lithographed A6...Alas, having knocked up, ahem, slaved over this playing-card inspired image yesterday I this morning received the unfortunate news that said postcard brief now has even more challenging constraints, in that it can only be in two colours, one of them black! So since this sadly won't be seeing daylight in a proper context otherwise, I thought I'd give it a moment of glory on the old blog.
My image (finally) for the text+image collaboration with Edinburgh University... Not entirely over the moon about this one, but I think I'll live with it for a while and if it still looks a bit pants in a few days maybe I'll have another go! Opinions warmly welcomed. To have a read of its friend the text and browse the other partnerships visit this here website.
